Kampala or Entebbe Tour

 

Uganda’s national and Commercial Capital – Kampala

This 5 days 4 nights Uganda safari will take you to explore the Kampala city and visit interesting places around and also take a visit to Entebbe and Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary a home to over 50 habituated chimps.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Kampala City Tour

After breakfast, you will be meet and greeted by our company driver/ guide who will brief you about the tour and later take you around Kampala Uganda’s capital and largest city to visit different sites within and outside the city. Places to visit include the Bulange Mengo for the Buganda culture; you will learn many things concerning this Kingdom, visit the Rubaga Cathedral for the catholic region, one of the many regions that we have here in Uganda, you will appreciate the setting of their church and there after proceed to Namirembe cathedral for the protestant church, also learn how they pray and their origin here in Uganda.

Visit also the Kasubi tombs (though burnt but are under construction), the kasubi tombs is a burial place for over 4 Kings (Kabaks’) of Buganda. After lunch in Kampala, proceed to the Bahai temple one of it is kind in the all of Africa. From here continue to the Uganda museum to get to know the history of Uganda and also visit the Namugongo shrine where the Uganda martyrs were killed for failure to renounce their religion.

If time allows visit the Nakesero market, Owino market among many other interesting places around. Retreat back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight at (Budget) The lodge, (mid-range) Cassia Lodge, Boma Guest House, (luxury) Hotel Africana, Serena Hotel

 

Day 2: Visit to the babies homes

The whole day will be spent on visiting the Sanyu and Nsambya babies homes, Get to know their history, how the children are coping up with their new environments and so many other. Day 3: Transfer to Ngamba Island

On this day, you will enjoy a heavy breakfast at leisure and later you will be driven to Nakiwogo at Entebbe to meet a boat or a ferry to Ngamba Island chimpanzee sanctuary. The drive on the lake is about one and half hours with the traditional boat (Ferry or 45-50 minutes on speed boat) with beautiful views of different water bird species and fisher men fishing. You will reach the island at around 11: 30 or before, listen to an informative talk by the sanctuary staff and also visit the different facilities at the island. Have lunch and later go to the visitor’s platform to view the afternoon feeding which starts at round 14:30pm.

Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

 It is fascinating to see the chimpanzees feeding and if interested participate in feeding process. You will spend an hour with the chimpanzees and later board your boat to drive back to the starting point. Here you will meet your company guide/driver who will transfer you back to the hotel. Day 4: Enjoy Entebbe Tour

Early in the morning after breakfast, the guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Entebbe. Your first stop shall be the Entebbe for the town tour then cross to the Botanical Gardens of Entebbe located on the shores of Lake Victoria it’s a sanctuary for many primates species (monkeys), most fantastic tropical plants one can find, walk on the white sand beach. Having a variety of primates such as Baboons and monkeys, close to 20 bird species and butterflies, the sight of local fishermen throwing their nets on canoes, as well as the beautiful lake shore scenery you a guaranteed to have a peaceful morning in a relaxing place blown by the cool lake breeze. Your lunch shall be served along the sandy beach under shade provided by the large palm trees under which you can order local Uganda or intercontinental dishes grilled tilapia whole, pizza, some Indian dishes etc, all served with a refreshing cool drink. The grilled Uganda tilapia is a visitor`s favorite, try it!!

 

After lunch continue to the Uganda Wildlife Centre- (The Zoo) where you will see most of the animal and bird species resident in Uganda gazetted in a semi natural habitat. These include but a few; Lion, Buffalo, Antelopes, Hippos, Snakes, Crocodile plus very many bird species. Taking photographs of your interest will be after paying for your camera entry and you shall walk along the various paths ending at beach side restaurants for refreshments before proceeding to our last destination.

Drive to Imperial Resort Beach Entebbe- the best white sand beach in Uganda located on the shores of Lake Victoria adjacent to a beautiful five star hotel. You will walk the clean in water/sand along the best sand in Uganda as well la on the sand to sun bath. A tour in the caves along this beach some of which have been made into creative bars is rewarding due to their unique features, as this is done you will have lots of water bird some of which are scavengers to see as you enjoy the cool lake Victoria breeze.  You will have a lake swim if desired along with native Ugandans or dive into the hotel`s Olympic size swimming pool to step up your physical fitness after a busy day finalized with a dance to Ugandan local tunes plus international tunes to warm your body as say buy the beach if it’s a weekend.

Please note that a motor boat cruise can be arranged for you if interested in having a cruise on Lake Victoria. This tour ends between 6:00-8:00 pm(local time) according you will so when ready you will tell your guide to drive you back to your hotel but he will remind you if it clocks 8pm. Day 5: Departure

After breakfast, depending on your departure flight, you will be driven to Entebbe international airport to meet your departure flight back home

 

The price shall include:

But it will exclude items of personal nature like laundry, beverages, beers and tipping of staff at the lodge and any other expenses that is not mentioned above.
